 OUR MISSION

Family Connection of Miami County, Inc. is a private, non-profit agency dedicated to supporting children by enhancing their relationships through visitation in a safe nurturing setting. 

The founders and staff of Family Connection believe that parents and children need to have positive contact in order for children to grow up emotionally healthy.  Occasionally families get separated after either divorce, family violence, or child abuse allegations.  Keeping in contact with children during this process is very important; providing the children with a positive, much needed connection. 

Family Connection helps parents continue to be a positive influence on their children by offering a consistent visitation schedule during a time of separation.  The child's trust is encouraged with the visitation occurring regularly and safely.  The child no longer needs to be afraid of a parental visit that may end in family conflict. 

Parents can also get confused with matters surrounding divorce and child protection issues.  The staff of Family Connection offers these parents peace of mind by establishing communication between the custodial parent, the non-custodial parent, and the local court, regarding details of court orders and case plans. 

Family Connection can be the beginning of the healing process for children and their families as they navigate through the unknown waters of separation.

Family Connection offers a fully-equipped kitchen where families can share a meal or bake cookies together as part of their visit time. A fully stocked game cupboard promotes quality family time without TVs, Game Boys or other video entertainment.

During these times of economic unrest and national security concerns, financial challenges loom for Family Connection. The families we help, face financial challenges every day as well. However, the stakes are a lot higher when their financial shortages result in not being able to see their child.
